14. Get rid of vulgarity, and you will *ecome a **n of cele*rity; decrease the desires for fame and wealth, and you will enter sainthood.
作人无甚高远事业，摆脱得俗情便入名流；为学无甚增益功夫，灭除得物累①便入圣境②。

① 物累：心为外物所累。
② 圣境：至高无上、超凡脱俗的境界。
今文解译
做人并不需要建立什么了不起的功业，只需摆脱庸俗之气，人便可以跻身名流。
做学问没什么奥秘和诀窍，只要不为功名利禄所累，人便可以进入圣贤的境界。
English Translation
A good personhood does not count on how terrific one’s exploits are; so long as doing away with vulgarity, one will surely *ecome a **n of great cele*rity.
The pursuit of knowledge needs no help of **gic means; so long as shaking off the yoke of fame and wealth, one will certainly enter sainthood.
